Roderick Macleod was born in 1891 and educated at Rugby and the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. In 1911 he was commissioned into the Royal Field Artillery and participated in the Curragh incident in 1914 before going on to serve in World War One. He went on to have a long military career, serving, fighting, and leading. He served with the BEF (British Expeditionary Force), was wounded at Battle of Le Cateau in 1914 and graduated from Staff College, Camberley, in 1927. He rose through the ranks...
